Experimental set-up “Air track”

It is used for kinematic and dynamic experiments in which for the purity of the experiment a system with a state where friction is reduced to zero is required.

The air track is a support with very little friction. Compressed air is pumped into the rail and exits through holes along the surface of the rail, forming a thin layer of air between the track and the bogies, making the bogies float. This allows you to create a closed system for the experiment and reduce to almost zero the influence of external influences. You can use these tools to test the laws of mechanics of conservation of momentum and force.
