The simulator is designed to demonstrate and simulate the operation of the bottle sealing system. The simulator can be used as a programmable device to demonstrate the interaction of a programmable logic controller (PLC) and production line-based control. The simulator is a compact device, which has pneumatic elements, motion controls and connectors for connection to a programmable logic controller (PLC). A stepper motor is used to move bottles and caps from the assembly line to the distribution line. A double-acting cylinder is used to secure caps on bottles. A limit switch and an inductive proximity sensor are included in the circuit to synchronize the movement. The unit can be paired with any type of PLC. All inputs and outputs are equipped with rugged 4-mm connectors for easy connection. A complete step-by-step guide to the experiments is included with the setup.
